Where do the locals go to escape? Follow us... it all starts with a boat ride.
Miami is a city that can capture anyone’s heart... full of energy, culture, and incredible beauty. But one of its true treasures lives on the water. Biscayne Bay isn’t just beautiful... it’s one of the biggest in the country, and it’s right here in Miami.
Locals, tourists, and even travelers just passing through all fall in love with what the bay has to offer. At Mr. Sea Miami, it’s our job (and our passion) to show you the best of this city, from the water.
From the iconic views around South Beach to secret spots in Biscayne Bay only locals know about, our routes are designed to give you a real taste of Miami’s boating lifestyle. Whether you're looking to relax on a quiet island, swim at a hidden sandbar, or cruise past the city skyline at sunset, we’ve got the perfect destination for your vibe.
In this post, we’ll take you through some of the top spots we visit during our charters, so you can start dreaming about your next day on the water.
Let’s explore. 1. Miami Marine Stadium
Once a venue for powerboat races and concerts back in the 70’s, this historic spot has become a favorite anchoring location for locals and boaters. Surrounded by colorful, graffiti-covered ruins and stunning skyline views, it’s the perfect mix of culture and chill. Great for floating, swimming, and soaking in the Miami energy.
This is also one of the top spots to ride jet skis, you can add them to your trip for $175 per hour and bring some extra speed to your day. On weekends, the stadium transforms into a floating party, with tons of boats and yachts anchored all around, music playing, and good vibes everywhere. 2. Monument Island
Monument Island is one of Biscayne Bay’s most iconic stops. Before the captain drops the anchor, we’ll take you on a relaxing cruise along the famous Millionaire’s Row... yes, you’ll get up close and personal with some of the most jaw-dropping mansions in Miami. After this tiny quick tour, we’ll anchor near the island so you can enjoy the beautiful and fresh water.
If you’re looking for a calm spot to chill and soak up the day with low-volume vibes, this is it. Just a heads-up: Miami Beach regulations don’t allow loud music in the surrounding areas... so, no blasting your playlist like you’re throwing a concert on the water (we’ll leave that to the dolphins).
Weekdays tend to be very peaceful... if you’re lucky, you might have the whole island all to yourself. On weekends, however, it becomes a popular spot where lots of boats gather to spend the day. 3. Picnic Island
Also known by locals as “La Islita,” this long island is the closest anchoring spot to Downtown Miami. It's surrounded by shallow waters and has plenty of space for boats to anchor all around, making it an easy, go-to stop for a laid-back day on the water.
Picnic Island features a small beach, a sandbar area, and calm water that's perfect for swimming or floating. It’s ideal for groups looking to relax, snack, and enjoy a mini beach picnic with front-row views of the city skyline. Expect chill vibes, light music, and a little slice of Miami paradise. 4. Fisher Island
One of the most exclusive zip codes in the U.S., Fisher Island offers a glimpse of luxury from the water. While access to the island itself is private, cruising past its luxury homes and mega yachts is always a hit with guests. Great for sightseeing and snapping photos of Miami’s upscale life. 5. Nixon Sandbar
Located in Key Biscayne, Nixon Sandbar is a true Miami weekend classic. It’s where boats gather, music plays, and people hop in the shallow water to swim, dance, and vibe in the sun. It’s social, it’s lively, and it’s what sandbar culture is all about.
Now... let’s talk logistics. A sandbar is basically a naturally shallow spot in the water where you can stand, walk around, or float with the water at your knees. That only works if your boat can get into that shallow area and here’s the catch: big boats can’t. If you’re on a boat under 30 feet, we can pull right into the action. But if you’re renting a boat bigger than that size, getting too close to the sandbar can turn your boat day into a “stuck in the mud” kind of story (and trust us, the captain’s not into that kind of adventure 😅).
The good news? We can anchor nearby and still enjoy the party vibe, or you can add a jet ski to your trip and ride straight to the action like a VIP. 6. Bear Cut Sandbar
Tucked between Virginia Key and Key Biscayne, Bear Cut is a lesser-known gem with clear water, a natural vibe, and way fewer crowds than the more popular sandbars. It’s a peaceful, intimate spot... perfect for floating, swimming, or just enjoying Miami’s quiet side.
Important note: this spot is best suited for small to medium-sized boats, due to a mix of shallow areas, narrow passages, and local boating regulations. If you're looking for a calm, low- key experience surrounded by nature and you’re not on a mega yacht... this is a great pick. It’s a beautiful alternative to the busier party zones. 7. Haulover Sandbar
Probably the most famous sandbar in Miami! Located north of the city, Haulover brings together a fun mix of locals and visitors. Expect music, floating parties, and plenty of Instagram- worthy moments. It’s the ultimate spot for letting loose on the water.
Now that you’ve got the inside scoop, all that’s lef to do is grab your crew and show up. From hidden chill zones to the most popular Miami sandbars, exploring the city by boat hits different. Whether you're planning a private yacht charter, a chill day with friends, or just looking for the best boat rental in Miami, we’ve got you covered. Have queshons or want to customize your trip? We’re here to help... let’s make some waves.🌊 ⚠ IMPORTANT:
